Protect Your Laptop With Business Travel Cover

Protect Your Laptop With Business Travel Cover

How easy it is to lose your laptop? Well, latest reach for Dell suggests that the chances are fairly high if you ask someone to keep an eye on it for you when at the airport. A staggering 42% of respondents who lost their laptop had trusted someone to look after it for them. Overall some 800,000 laptops are lost each year with 900 a week alone going missing at Heathrow. Amsterdam, Paris and London Gatwick are also high up on the list of worst performing airports in Europe and those travelling to the USA should note that some 1200 laptops go astray at Los Angeles Airport every week. The survey found that many travellers fail to take any steps to protect the information contained on their laptops.

Nearly 60 per cent of the British admitted that they did not protect confidential information, while more than half said that they did not back up data. One of the quick and easy measures that can be done is put your name and contact number on the outside of the laptop to assist in returning it should it be found again. Catering to Your Needs: Varieties of Travel Insurance Cover

Catering to Your Needs: Varieties of Travel Insurance Cover

Just as there are different types of traveller and different types of holiday, there are also different types of Travel Insurance available to accommodate everyone. So in order to sort through the options, you must consider what you need from a policy. Today, travel insurance aims to cater to specific types of holiday, so it shouldn’t be difficult to find a policy that is right for your travel needs.

If you are a frequent traveller, exploring many different locations each year, your best bet is to go for an annual policy. Bearing in mind that different companies will vary, an annual policy should cover you for all your trips in one year, and will generally work out cheaper than single trip insurance if you plan to make many journeys.

If you are taking a gap year, an extended holiday, or if you’re just in the mood to pack up your bags and explore the world for a while, it is important that you find an insurance policy that caters to your needs. These days, many Insurance Companies offer ‘Backpacker Insurance’ which covers longer periods abroad and takes into account the additional risks a backpacker may need to consider. For students, cost may also play a larger part in your decision about Travel Insurance, but always remember to check what you are paying for: there’s no use having cheap travel insurance if it doesn’t cover what you need.

Families often choose to take just one, memorable group holiday in a year when they can be together. If you do the same, it’s worth considering the option of single trip cover, especially if you know that will be your one holiday during the year. Many companies also offer to insure children under a certain age for free, which should also help to reduce stress when you’re planning your holiday.

Many Insurance Companies have also recognised a need for a different type of policy to cater to people travelling to enjoy winter sports. Even if you’re the best sportsperson this side of the equator, there are always going to be greater risks involved in a winter sports break than in, for example, a holiday spent sunning yourself by the beach. Policies will put more emphasis on accident and medical expenses cover, letting you enjoy yourself without having to worry about what might go wrong and how much it could cost you.

With so many different travel insurance policies available today, it’s always worth taking a minute to consider what’s best for you and your holiday, and what will get you the best value for your money.

Travel Insurance – Specialist Cover

Travel Insurance – Specialist Cover

Although standard travel policies often take numerous situations into account, there are some applicants or situations that they will either charge vastly inflated premiums for or simply not cover at all.

The following are some examples of this -

Those who are not physically or mentally fit
Those who are not aged 18 to 50
Those that are planning on engaging in any “hazardous sport”, this includes the majority of extreme sports
Those that plan on being abroad for an extended or unusually long period of time, backpacking is a good example of this

Within these situations the applicant is likely to require “specialist cover”, two of the most popular of which are outlined below.

Over 50’s

Nearly all standard policies have an “upper age limit”, which is usually 50 or over, with some providers this is 65. Travellers over this age limit will find their premiums a lot more expensive to their younger counterparts, especially in terms of medical cover.

Seniors obtaining a quote may find they have to answer more questions than usual; this is so the insurer can get a clearer picture of any pre-existing medical conditions.

Extreme Sports

With the popularity of extreme sports such as snowboarding, scuba diving, parasailing and skiing soaring in recent years, insurance policies have been adjusted to reflect these changes.

As with over 50’s, those participating in extreme sports are likely to find that the “standard” medical policy will not suffice. With most not covering any injuries incurred as a result of participating in extreme sports.

As well as providing more reasonable travel insurance premiums, a specialist provider is also likely to cover both rented and personal sporting equipment, which is often very expensive to replace.

Obtaining cheap travel insurance for the situations outlined above isn’t that difficult as the number of applicants has increased considerably over the years. A quick search online is generally the best method for comparing the travel insurance market.

Why Is Travel Health Insurance Cover So Important?

In today’s small world of global trips and holidays, it’s important to stay safe and healthy. If you do get injured or sick it is critical that you have travel health insurance as not to be wholly inconvenienced.

Travel health insurance is the system that trades risk for a premium. Like normal insurance travel insurance means you pay premium so that in the case of an emergencies, someone can pay the bills straight away. This means that if you break your leg, have a heart attack or get salmonella, someone else is looking after this new and expensive set of bills.

This system of travel insurance health care insures that you will be a lot less stressed in cases of bad luck. International travel health insurance is the main type of insurance policy in single trips, multi trips and annual trip travel insurance. This is due to the cheapness of travel to other countries in today’s global village.

When you buy travel health insurance, ensure it is a good deal and the policies you’ve compared are either world wide travel insurance or domestic travel insurance rates. It is important to really scrutinize cheap travel health insurance against your plans as on your holiday it is important to realise the holes in your insurance and thus the limitations on your travel plans. Getaways With the Perfect Travel Insurance Cover ……

According to the latest report by the UK travel analysts, “In the past three four years people in UK have taken travelling as the basic requirement for them round the year. Earlier it was only once a year when people step out to have the holiday bash. Due to the sudden drop in air-fares and the mounting work pressure, people now await more eagerly for the outings.

Huge Mark, a Sales executive comments on the same, “I usually take on a holiday trip several times in a year in order to make an escape from the hefty work schedule”. With the fast growing travelling needs among the people, the concept of travel insurance policy has also made its foray hugely into the market. People now are not willing to take risks with their holiday plans as it is the only time during the year when one can relax without any impediments on the way. It has also been revealed that nearly 60% people in UK opt for travel insurance.

But taking a travel insurance policy is not enough; one must make a thorough study of all the policies available in the market to get the appropriate choice. It takes only few minutes to make a comparative study between the various offers available in the market. Inapt travel insurance cover may increase the problem instead of providing help whilst the trip. Cheap travel insurance cover is not that tough to find as people assume about it. Through a proper navigation online one can also get to know about the new policies and about their exact requirements.

Commenting on the same Rudy Jennson, a regular traveller added, “Initially I used to get cover on each of my single trips through out the year. Actually I wasn’t aware the provision of multi-trip policies which not only saves the money but also offers an apposite coverage for the regular travellers.

Sometimes the travel agents in the market also mislead the customers, as they earn more commission by selling in various individual policies. Naturally a travel will look for his/her benefit instead of taking care of your specific requirements. Usually, buying a policy costs to a person much more than the actual rates in most of the cases.

Following are the few noteworthy points which must be considered while taking any policy:-

1) You must be fully aware about the kinds of coverage offered within your travel insurance policy. Usually most of the travel insurance policies cover the change and cancellation of trips, emergency medical assistance, etc. But there are various situations when you require more than it, like coverage for loss, damage of important belongings, flight delays and others. So it is very important to get to know about all kinds of coverage and for that you also must specify all your exact requirements to the travel insurer.

2) Compare the shop for the best insurance cover. The best way to compare the policies in on internet.

3) Read the small prints properly.

4) Check out for the cover confines and also for any prohibition if there are any.

Check out for the websites like insurancebookers.co.uk, saga, insure and go and thus compare their vibrant policies.

Travel Cover Concerns

Travel Cover Concerns

Two thirds of British holidaymakers have admitted that they will now be spending less on their holidays due to the credit crunch. This has prompted the Foreign Office to voice concerns that people will opt out of getting comprehensive travel insurance, adding potential financial ruin to the trauma of experiencing a serious problem abroad . Currently, one in four Britons go on holiday without insurance and risk having to spend thousands in repatriation costs raising concerns that this figure will rise. As one travel industry observer has noted, “it’s a false economy to do without travel insurance and it should be regarded as a holiday essential. It’s just as important as packing your passport.” Travel insurance premiums vary greatly, as does the cover provided but, relative to the overall holiday costs, it really is a small amount to pay for the ‘peace of mind’ it gives. But do beware falling into the trap that seeking out the cheapest insurance deal is ok for all situations. The old adage that ‘you get what you pay for’ can also apply to low end insurance policies. You do need to check that what is being offered will provide you with the cover you need.

When looking for cheap travel insurance, there are some simple rules to apply. Do your homework. Firstly, know what you want. Are you looking for a policy to cover you for just one trip or if you are going to travel more than once, then why not consider an annual multi-trip travel insurance policy instead? That could save you money over the year. Then read the policy schedule. Most internet sites are good at giving an instant quote – that is what they are designed to do but fewer provide easily accessible information to indicate what the policy covers. At the very least, you should look at the policy schedule. This is the table that shows the level of cover against various risks. Choose a policy that satisfies your needs.

The areas that cost the most in a travel insurance policy tend to be cancellation, personal effects and medical cover. If you are booking long in advance, then cancellation cover is a must (normally around the £3000 figure is sufficient) as this safeguards you if you have to cancel because of, say, a close family illness or being called for jury service, to name but two examples. If however, you are taking a last minute holiday, then perhaps cancellation cover is not as necessary so you could reduce your premium considerably by choosing a policy with limited or no cancellation. Likewise, reducing your baggage cover can see your premiums nose dive. When it comes to medical cover, the FCO recommends a level of £2 million as being more than adequate, so perhaps you don’t need to buy the policy that offers £10 million. Next check the small print. Very few of us take the time to read the small print but the ‘devil is in the detail’ for sure. Ask yourself some key questions. Is where I want to travel covered by the policy, for example, is Egypt in Europe or Rest of the World as definitions do differ from company to company? Am I covered if caught up in a terrorist incident? Do I need to produce a police report if I have money or personal effects stolen? What about hazardous activities? Am I covered to bungee jump on my trip for instance? Make a list of simple questions relating to your trip and then check the policy.

So is there such a thing as cheap travel insurance? Most definitely there is but the simple rule of thumb is that the cheaper the policy, the more restrictive it is likely to be. But you can help yourself by knowing what to look out for and wherever possible tailoring your insurance to your exact needs and that way make your travel insurance cheaper.
