Give yourself a Merry Christmas at the Grand Hotel Terme Astro

Christmas holidays have already begun at Grand Hotel Terme Astro, that, from the 18th of December to the 7th of January, has prepared three packages and a huge gift: Christmas Eve’s accomodation is free for all the guests who will stay more than three nights in the resort immersed among the hills of Tabiano. The Beauty Farm Alhambra also wants to wish Merry Christmas to the lovers of the hammam, massages and wellness packages with a 5% discount on all the treatments (the offer is valid for an amount superior to 200 euros).

Surprises are not finished. The Hotel and wellness centre has planned a very special proposal for families: children 0-12 years in rooms with their parents do not pay the accomodation.  An adult and a child 2-6 years can have an advantageous 60% discount or a 50% discount if the child age is between 7 and 15 years old.
Communicating rooms are available on demand and the cradle is accepted free of charge. Parents and children can experience together the “Istanbul Baths” hammam programme and a dive in the submerged sounds tub.

The hotel animation service is naturally active. The kids, in fact, can join the Asterland Club and take part in the “AstroMagicChristmas” and “San Silvestro New Year’s Eve”. Games, creative labs, paintings will take up children’s time, among lunches and snacks with their new friends. And what about the letters to Santa Claus? No problemfor that. Six elves will wait for them at this address: ” Postmen Elves on secondment, Santa Claus post office, Grand Hotel Terme Astro, via castello 2, 43039 Tabiano Bagni (PR)”.

A bubbling welcome for the couples offered by Grand Hotel Terme Astro: at their arrival a bottle of champagne and some sweets to toast to the holidays. The “Couple Special” package includes a free entrance at the “Istanbul Baths” hammam to discover together the pleasures of the vapour bath.

For the singles no additional charge on the room and a lot of cuddles: besides the Turkish bath, the guests can choose to experience the toning effects of the Polynesian rain or refresh their tan with the sun shower. Finally, the guests will have the chance to join the “Friendship table” everyday at the Delle Calle restaurant, which, together with the Spa, belongs to the resort.

Last but not least the Christmas calendar: every day, from the 23th of December to the 6th of January, is like a feast to live in joy and serenity these holidays, starting with the afternoon gathering to taste teas and pastries or the gluttunous break with Parmesan Cheese and delicious cold cuts. For those who want to keep fit also during Christmas there is the possibility to spend an hour in the gym. And there is much more: dancing nights with the greayest hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s, the Christmas movie to watch together with pop corn and nougats, Christmas melodies, and the casino nights at the green table for the special “Montecarlo Night” and the traditional bingo.

Santa Claus will stop at the Grand Hotel to give the presents that the guests will exchange under the big Christmas tree in the hall.

Cheap Flights – What to be Prepared For

Cheap Flights – What to be Prepared For

Cheap travel is something that many people are trying to find these days. With more competition between airlines, there are more cheap flights becoming available. These are a few travel tips that you should know about these flights so that you can make yours the best possible.

When booking these cheap flights, have a printer close at hand because most of them require you to print your own boarding pass. You need the booking papers, boarding passes and other documents when you check in.
The cheapest airlines do not generally offer any refreshments of flights that are less than two to three hours long. If you need water, buy it after you go through security and bring any snacks with you, especially if health conditions require you to have some form of nourishment.
These cheap flights are usually pretty full. Carry-on bags even though they might get through security can get rejected as you board if the bag is deemed as too big.
Some cheap flights do not have seating plans so if you want to sit with your friends or family, you have to make sure you get on the flight within the first half of the group of people flying with you if at all possible.
In the case that you have back problems, take a small cushion with your or a back support because the seats may not adjust at all, whether forward, backward, or any other direction. Many times, these are stiff plastic seats with a cover on them.

Cheap travel is great when you can find the right flights that save you money. When you know what to be prepared for it makes the trip even better.

This tips are written from personal experiences in hope of making other’s travel experiences a little better. For more of these hints, please visit travel the Travel Tips blog.

Tips On Travelling Cheap

Tips On Travelling Cheap

The world is in an economic crisis and tourism has slowed down all over the world, which can mean big savings for savvy travelers. Cheap travel is possible if you’re willing to plan ahead and do a little research. Make the most out of your dollar with these tips on traveling cheap:

Be flexible with your travel dates. Traveling is always more expensive during the times when people travel the most: holidays, spring break, weekends. Flights in the middle of the week are less expensive than on the weekends. Cheap flights aren’t hard to find if you’re willing to do some research. Look into trains or car rentals to see what options are the least expensive. Overnight trains can be a very economical option because you’re combining traveling and lodging costs into one, all the while catching up on your sleep!

Many large cities, especially in Europe, are best seen by walking or bicycling. Amsterdam and Paris, for example, have excellent bike-rental systems which are a great alternative to expensive taxis. Ask about different passes for the metro or bus – sometimes day or weekly passes are cheaper than buying one ticket at a time.

Hostels are a great inexpensive alternative to hotels. While some hostels can still be downright scary, it’s not always the case. Some hostels offer private rooms with private baths just like a hotel but without the hefty price tag. Hostels may not be the most luxurious of accommodations but traveling cheap requires a few sacrifices. Besides, how much time are you really going to spend in your room anyways?

Eating out for every meal can add up very quickly. Set a budget ahead of time to avoid overspending. Balance out several cheap meals with one nicer one. Scour guide books or ask locals about the tiny restaurants located off the beaten path with the smaller prices. Planning ahead and shopping at grocery stores for snacks, bottled water, and simple items for sandwiches is a great way to travel cheap, as is bringing snacks from home.

Take advantage of AAA or student discounts. Many hostels and hotels give students a discount, as do certain attractions such as tours, shows, museum passes, etc… It never hurts to ask!

Dominican Republic – Trip to Samana (Dominican Republic)

Fees for Samana Highway Toll I Marbella : RD43 Toll II Guaraguao: RD165 Toll III Naranjal: RD139 With good planning and a good eye you can spend a great time in Samana. Mr. Lu, T-Money and a few friends packed together in Money’s Rav-4, split the costs and had a great time. Cheap travel is possible, if you know what to do. On this trip: Tolls: Fees for Samana Highway (These costs are paid each way) Toll I Marbella : RD43 Toll II Guaraguao: RD165 Toll III Naranjal: RD139 Gas: For a fuel efficient vehicle, a group of 6 put in RD0 each (estimate), which was enough to get us to Samana and back Hotel: Hotel Fata Morgana, in Las Terrenas, was US per night. Only negative, is that there is no hot water, but there is kitchen to cook your food in. Food: Depends on you. Mr. Lu spent most of his money, during a three day period, on food. Buy stuff at the super market, like snacks. Plus there are plenty of cheap food stands where you can spend RD0 per night for a full meal. Remember this is for those who travel on the cheap. Also a plate of fried fish will cost around RD0 at the beaches. Alcohol: Bring your own. A cooler in the back of the truck and a few bottle of what yo want. This is if

Air Travel Tips For Making It Easy And Smooth

Air Travel Tips For Making It Easy And Smooth

Observing fellow passengers on my recent flight, I noticed several mistakes and evidence of poor planning that caused the travelers unnecessary distress.

Traveling by airplane and through airports is stressful enough as it is. Why not do everything you can to make it easy on yourself?

Here are seven simple suggestions of what you can do to make your next flight more comfortable and pleasant.

1. Set your intention. Sounds weird, but it works. Arrive at the airport with the mindset that all is going to go smoothly and that you are going to meet helpful people. Pleasing conditions are much more likely to occur if you expect them than if you are expecting hassles.

2. Wear slip-on shoes. Face it, getting through security these days involves partially undressing in front of a lot of strangers who just want you to hurry up and get out of the way. You always have to take off your shoes, so make it easy on yourself by wearing slides.

3. Use a carryon with wheels. Think of it as your airport supply kit. Even if you are checking luggage, you still want to have a small wheeled carryon bag, and here’s why: carrying the odds and ends in a bag over your shoulder is tiring and limits your freedom of movement. Instead, a wheeled carryon can act as a sort of cart for any additional items you pick up along the way: food, water, magazines, etc.

4. Bring food. Buy it at the airport if that’s easiest, but be sure to bring healthier choices than offered by the snack boxes you can buy on the airplane — unless you like snacks virtually absent of nutrition and high in fat and carbs.

5. Hydrate. You will feel so much better if you drink plenty of water. The air on the planes is very dry, and since the cabin is a contained, pressurized environment, the air is recycled during the flight. You’re breathing in a lot of crud, and water helps your body deal with it.

6. Wear noise-canceling headphones in flight. What more can I say? Wow. They are totally worth the investment if you fly very often at all. Planes are extremely noisy. The powerful engines, the crying babies, the talkative neighbors. All of the grinding and rumbling and whining and blasting become mere background whispers when you’re wearing noise canceling headphones.

7. Bring disposable entertainment. During flight and on layovers, there are a multitude of things you can do to pass the time, ranging from working on your laptop to filling in the newspaper crossword puzzle. But you need a pen to do the puzzle, a plug-in to work on the laptop for long, a credit card to sit in a lounge and watch TV… you get the idea. Think ahead about what entertainment you might like to have on hand that is portable and convenient to interrupt during the many phases of your passage from one location to the next. Easiest is a magazine because if you space out and leave it behind, it is readily replaced.

When you have these seven suggestions in place and you keep your overall airport supply kit (the handy wheeled carryon) lightly but thoroughly equipped, your air travel experience becomes more manageable and effortless.

Vipin Khanna is an internationally known author who writes on air travel faresflight ticket deals, <a href plane ticket price and other related topics.

I recently took a short flight, and captured the moment of take off as well as taking several pictures of the beautiful view in flight. It was quite nice as we rose up over the clouds from the rainy windy weather at ground level to the clear sunset on the horizon. Turbulents on the way up generated much laughter for children on the plane who were shouting with excitement every time the plane jumped. I have to admit to enjoying the turbulents myself also. I have a personal tradition that every time a plane I am on takes off, I play Postal Service’s ‘Recycled Air’ to myself on my MP3 Player. So with a combination of this tradition and the footage I captured, I present to you a short video and montage of that flight. As mentioned above the music is Postal Service – Recycled Air.

Discount International Air Travel Is Not For Everyone

Discount International Air Travel Is Not For Everyone

Traveling internationally means something different to all of us. Some will be going on a holiday while others may be traveling for business purposes for example. Either way many people will choose the option for discount international air travel. Of course this really does depend on your financial situation and whether or not you are happy to accept the compromises that go with this form of traveling. What I mean by this is that to keep airfares at discounted prices the airlines will offer you for example alternatives such as layovers instead of direct flights. Now this may not be a bother to some people but to others it can be very disruptive to their travel plans.

I would seriously suggest to you that before you purchase your discount international air travel tickets you should really do your homework and find out whether these compromises are worth the reduced prices. For instance if you are flying with young children, you may wish to get to your destination as quickly as possible (for the sanity of all) without the hassle of stopping over at airports for hours waiting to catch the connecting flight. Children do not cope terribly well with long delays in airports. They can become quite irritable and understandably so.

Some discount international air travel options also can mean that you may not be landing at the nearest airport to where you want to go to, meaning you will have to find alternative transport to get you to your final destination. This may become quite costly. So when you add it all up it may have been much better to go for a more expensive flight. This is why I stress that you do your homework first.

Some airlines may also cut back on the extras that you get during your onboard flight. This may mean less to eat and drink. They may offer you snacks to buy which can be expensive too. Again, this may not bother some while it will bother others. Make sure when you are purchasing your tickets either through the airline or the travel agency that you ask lots of questions to make sure that you will be happy with the flight. After all whether you are flying full price or discounted it is still a lot of money to be spending when you fly internationally.

I suppose the good thing these days though is that there really is the option in the first place to be able to acquire discount international air travel. This opens up the world to so many people who probably would never have been able to afford to go overseas before but now can. So, save your money, do your homework and enjoy your time away from home for whatever reason it is that you are.

My journey to Hong Kong from Manila via Incheon on board Korean Air B777-300 and B747-400E. Yup, it’s a long route alright. More than 7 hours trip compared to a 2 hour direct flight from Manila. It’s on business class anyway; I didn’t mind. Some shots are a bit shaky. Took it with a Nokia N70. Features take offs and landings, Korean Air flight attendants, and the bibimbap!

Air Travel: the New First Class Dining Experience

Air Travel: the New First Class Dining Experience

With first-class air travel reaching enormous amounts in regards to cost, what are the airlines doing for their first-class passengers in exchange for such hefty dues? For one, they are upping the ante when it comes to the onboard first-class dinging experience. As we all know, airfare has sky rocketed recently as the average first-class round trip flight is around ,000. Yes, a much more comfy seat and more leg room may be worth the price, but airlines are beginning to do away with those pre-determined menus and beginning to go so far as to hiring their very own on-board chefs.

Yes, you heard it correctly. With several airlines, your very own first-class chef is available on your flight. Of course, much of this sort of activity is being done on more foreign flights, but it seems to be quite a popular trend these days. The number one and number two rated best on-board meals currently go to Gulf Air and Cathay Pacific (Gulf Air being the airline with the personal chef aboard, of course.) While this all may be a bit ‘overdone’, like a fresh egg made to order at Cathay Pacific, it really only costs the airlines about -50 per traveler. This all seems like a pretty good deal for the airline, as well as the traveler. That is, if this is what they expect out of a ,000 flight. But it does not end here.

Airlines, such as Singapore Airlines is providing first-class travelers heir choice of beverage, including champagne including Dom Perignon upon boarding the flight. This pleasant experience in accented with a lovely serving of world famous caviar with travelers’ meals. While all of this seems a bit overdone, one may begin to wonder if it is really a bit over the top. In the United States, many of us have not experienced such pleasantries on our flights. We are pretty lucky if we get a free box of snacks, like Southwest Airlines has been so kind as to provide on several flights. Are airlines going to be jockeying for such positions in the future in the US as they have been on foreign airlines? If so, then how far? Today it sounds as if our airlines are really having some trouble dealing with things such as oil prices and rising costs in order to do business.

It is actually a very interesting point in time in regards to the airlines as competition is heating up as well as airfare prices. How high will they go? Who knows? What I wonder about is if the first-class upgrades will really propel the airlines into better profits, ultimately cost them more money, or if they actually have more money than we think? All I know is this is getting very interesting; however, not interesting enough to raise prices for airfare even more just to suit the personal chefs on board. So, what will happen next with the airlines seems to be headed towards raising the bar in terms of quality of experience. But, how will this affect everyone? Hopefully, it will allow airlines to pick themselves up across the board and provide a pleasant flying experience for everyone in the air.
